Revelation Chapter 10 Verse 6
"And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer"
To understand the matter of "time no longer," it is necessary for us to consult the book of Daniel. The angel holds this book in his hand, and it's from this book that the declaration originates.
The book of Daniel identifies four distinct prophetic time periods. Each of these time periods has a specific beginning and ending date. They are as described below:
1. The 3½ prophetic years of Daniel 7:25 and 12:7
 (The rise and fall of Papal supremacy 538 A.D. - 1798 A.D.)
2. The 1290 prophetic days of Daniel 12:11.Â
(The taking away of the daily and the abomination set up 508 A.D. - 1798 A.D.)
3. The 1335 prophetic days of Daniel 12:12.Â
(Daniel and the saints stand in their lot for judgment 508 A.D. - 1843/44 A.D.)
4. The 2300 prophetic days of Daniel 8:14.Â
(At the close of this date the cleansing of the sanctuary or judgment would commence 457 B.C. - 1844 A.D.)
The book of Daniel prophesies the longest time period at 2300 days, ending in 1844. The conclusion of all the predictions and the conclusion of all precise date settings were reached as a result of this.Â
It is to this that the angel was pointing when exclaiming that there should be “time no longer.” No longer are we to look to these prophecies to be fulfilled, they have come to their end. All chronological time prophecies/time periods have ceased.Â
No more dates are to be set after 1844 for any event whatsoever, as far as Bible prophecy is concerned. 1844 is the last date in Bible prophecy.
This does not mean that the day-for-year principle ceased in 1844, it means that all time periods needing an ending date have ceased.
Daniel 8:13-14 - “13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.”
This 2300-day time prophecy forms the basis of the longest prophetic timeline in the Bible. Certain schools of Jewish thinking prohibit the study of it due to its clear and unmistakable revelation of Christ's first coming.
Daniel, the recipient of the vision, struggled to comprehend it (Daniel 8:27). So he prayed earnestly for understanding, and God sent the angel Gabriel to give Daniel further enlightenment. Daniel 9:21–27 provides this insight.
Therefore, we will study both Daniel 8 and 9 in relation to this 2300-day time prophecy.
Daniel 9:24-27 - “24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”
In Daniel chapter 9, the angel Gabriel divided the 2300-day prophecy into smaller time periods separated by a variety of events.
Jesus the Messiah was “to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy” (Daniel 9:24).
Daniel 9:24 - “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.”
- 70 prophetic weeks x 7 days in a week = 490 prophetic days
- 490 prophetic days = 490 literal years
He informs Daniel that the prophetic time prophecy will start, “from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem” (Daniel 9:25).
Ezra 7 records the most comprehensive of several decrees given in relation to this prophecy. This decree was issued by King Artaxerses in 457 B.C., according to accurate historical records.
Daniel 9:25 - “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.”
• Prophetic weeks = 7
• Threescore prophetic weeks = 60
• Two prophetic week = 2
7+ 60+ 2 = 69 weeks
69 prophetic weeks x 7 days in a week = 483 prophetic days
483 prophetic days = 483 literal years
From the going forth of the decree, 457 B.C., “unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks” (Daniel 9:25). This is a total of 69 weeks, or 483 prophetic years.
Counting down 483 years from 457 B.C. brings us to 27 A.D. John baptized Jesus in the river Jordan in this exact year.
The word “Messiah” in Daniel 9:25–26 means “anointed” one. When Jesus was baptized, the Holy Spirit descended upon Him to anoint Him for His work as our Savior (Acts 10:38). It was just after His baptism that Jesus was recognized as “the Messiah, which is being interpreted as the Christ” (John 1:41).
In Mark 1:15, Jesus said, “The time is fulfilled, the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” The “time” Jesus pointed to was the fulfillment of the 483-year portion of the 2300-day-for-a-year prophecy that pointed to the very year of His baptism and the start of His public ministry.
Daniel 9:26 - “And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.”
“Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself” (Daniel 9:26, NKJV). This prophecy predicts the death of Christ for the sins of the world (2 Corinthians 5:21). He was innocent, yet He offered Himself freely for our sins (Isaiah 53:5).
“He shall confirm the covenant with many for one week." (Daniel 9:27). This verse highlights the new covenant, initially spoken by the Lord and later confirmed to us by those who heard Him (Hebrews 2:3; Titus 1:3).
“In the midst of the week, He shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease” (Daniel 9:27). It was 3 1/2 years into this last week of the seventy weeks allotted to Israel that Christ was to be cut-off. In the middle of the seventieth week of the prophecy, Christ was to give His life for the world. When this time had come, Christ said to His disciples, “Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, the Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at thy house with my disciples” (Matthew 26:18).
Despite the fact that there were preparations and attempts made to take Christ's life early in His career, it did not occur sooner for some reason. In this manner, Christ's actions confirmed the prophetic concept of one day for every year, as well as its applicability to the prophecy of the 2300 days. He made this statement in John 7:6, which is why He said, "My time is not yet come." Furthermore, He reiterates the statement "My time is not yet fully come" (John 7:8).
So far, we have discussed the first 490 years of the prophecy, which states that there will be 2300 days in a year. In the year 34 A.D., there are still 1810 years left. The year 1844, which was the period when the sanctuary was to "be cleansed" (Daniel 8:14), brings us to the point when we are counting down 1810 years.
What happened in 1844?
Answer: The most significant religious awakening ever documented in the annals of human history? A Baptist preacher by the name of William Miller was the one who started this effort. He, along with other individuals in a variety of places, started preaching a message that was based on the scriptures of Daniel. Miller's sermons were primarily inspired by the 2300-day-for-a-year prophecy, which he initially believed would come to a conclusion around the year 1843.
“Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people” (Daniel 9:24). This brings us from 457 A.D. to 34 A.D. The Jews as a nation rejected the gospel when they stoned Stephen in 34 A.D. Before His departure, Christ had told His disciples to go first to the house of Israel (Matthew 10:6; 13:46). Following Stephen's stoning, the early church dispersed, preaching the word everywhere (Acts 8:4).
